The paper is an exploration of ethical issues in the trans-cultural application of educational drama. The paper draws on fieldwork conducted by myself in the SOS Children’s Village, Lilongwe, Malawi between 1999 and 2004.

This book came about as part of collaboration between teachers, students and pupils from the SOS Children’s Village Lilongwe, SOS Children’s Villages UK and Hope One World based at Liverpool Hope University UK. The aim of the initiative was to record the stories, poems and songs of the teachers as a resource for pupils, and to act as an archive of the work undertaken during this period. (Currently seeking publication)
